A DEFORMED ANGEL

Deformed angel Zaina was a very beautiful mature girl. She had long black hair, her face shines as a moon in a dark night, and her beauty used to attract all the young boys who are willing to get married; the ultimate purpose of every village girl. she was raised by a well organised family, a family that fed their daughter with enough domestic harmony. her father was a tall men and he was famous in their small village located in the south east of Morocco by his strong body in addition to his readiness to provide help to all the members of the clan. Her mother was famous by her beauty and wisdom. So all the people in that clan were sure that Zaina inherited all the good physical and spiritual qualities from her parents and she will choose the best husband for her who deserves to share his life with her, so because of these golden qualities, all the girls of the clan felt envious towards her. The villagers were glad because they were located away from the military conflicts zone between the colonist soldiers and the Moroccan resistant combatants, they always ask God to help them defeat the soldiers who were famous by their barbaric massacres they leave in every village they attack. The clans in the south east of Morocco used to follow a particular lifestyle, so they used to share all the tasks and the housework. Women used to spend the whole day cooking and cleaning dishes at the kitchen. Whereas Men and boys used to work outside the house by cultivating and farming. In fact, the girls used to work sometimes at home by helping their mothers, and sometimes outside the house by doing laundry out there, so they take the dirty clothes to the streams and wash them, and bring some drinkable water for their families. One day, Zaina went to the streams in order to do the laundry and bring some water for her family. It was a sunny day she thought, "go early today Zaina so that you be able to come back early and help me at the kitchen my daughter, we have guests today" her mother had said before she departed. Zaina was curious about the identity of the guests since she overheard yesterday by chance a conversation between her mother and a woman who was informing her that her sister and her husband; her brother in law, are coming tomorrow for the sake of asking for Zaina's hand for their son who has just finished memorising all the holy book; memorising all the Qur'an in Muslim societies was always a good sign of a good potential husband. What's more, he was the only guy she loved and the type of person she wants to spend her life with even she could not express her love to anybody just like all the shy girls of the village. he was not only educated, but he was a handsome boy with a thick beard and long hair. Unfortunately, she couldn't hear her mother's answer. That's why she is curious now and she doesn't know if the family planning to visit them wants her as a wife for their handsome educated boy or is it just a simple visit. On the way to the stream Zaina started to sing some local songs happily, and she felt that this day might be a decisive day in her life. She actively washed all the clothes and was getting ready to hit the road and go back home. She usually naps under a tree's shadow after doing the laundry, but she refused to take a nap today so as not to lose time and get home lately. She left the streams and started to sing again and look from time to time to the sky "is different today" she thought, her heart was telling her that something strong will be about to happen, or it has already happened. She suddenly stopped, and started to walk again as a ship that lost its direction in the middle of the sea. "what's the matter?" she asked herself. As Zaina was walking towards her village, and exactly her house, she noticed the smoke rising on the top of her village, covering the golden beams of the sun that was spreading warm-hearted feelings among the members of the clan. Zaina was wondering, "what's going on? What happened?" and a lot of question marks started to fill her small head. She was coming across in her path toward her house cadavers of dead people who have just been killed, corps of men, women and children. She was vomiting and her beautiful large eyes could not support the barbaric scene. She has never seen a dead person let alone someone who has just been murdered. Zaina was resisting the cruel view and came inside her house and reassure that her family members are safe. Unfortunately, she found out that all her brothers were slaughtered, her mother was half naked and realised that she was raped before she was killed. Moreover, she discovered that her father was shot dead with a rifle and she noticed that he was carrying his own knife that he usually used in the farm, "he lived a great man, and he died as a great man" she thought, it was apparent that her father was resisting before he was shot dead. Zaina had a dizzy spell and she was about to fall. She was shocked to the extent she couldn't cry; her eyes didn't generate any tears. her heart was not only crying but it was bleeding. What's more, she started to move from place to place, from her brother to the other, from her mother to her father trying to provide any first aid but in vain, they all were dead, she lost all her family. She could not believe what she was looking at. She just discovered that she was the only survivor in the village, the colonizers killed everybody. The soldiers were very harsh and severe. Her white skirt was red and totally covered with blood and smoke because everything was burning; the soldiers set fire in all the village before they left and all the buildings were entirely burned. Zaina did not know what to do, she has just discovered that she's alone and she's going to spend the rest of her life alone. So she left the village behind appalled and psychologically shocked and she could not accept what has just happened. She went to the jungle, and decided to spend her life there. Zaina moved to the jungle and started to live between wild animals and feed herself by haunting animals and eating insects, in addition to the grass and plants in the jungle. Her body started to lose its beautiful shape, and her face features almost lost the beauty by which she was famous. However, that non-natural environment did not fit her, and her tongue was divided into two parts after she had eaten a poisonous plant. Fortunately, she didn't lose her life. In addition to this accident, the beautiful Zaina had been bitten by a rare kind of spiders that transformed her to a totally haired woman especially her legs and feet. Three years later, Zaina decides to revenge the murder of her family members in particular, and of members of all the clan and her village. She carefully located and studied the places where the soldiers used to reside in and the roads they used to travel and transport their troops, the three years in the jungle were enough to make her a strong, wild, and savage person. A person without mercy, a distorted angel. She started to attack the soldiers wherever they are, she used to kill them inside their barracks and cut their penises, additionally, she was ripping their chests and eat their hearts. Her large eyes that used to attract all the young boys of the village by their beauty still preserve their power, she uses the same eyes as an owl to spot her victims. All the soldiers were afraid and lost their bravery, they were all having nightmares and terrifying dreams during the night while sleeping because they heard from their fellows who survived her attacks that she was furious, what's more, her legs were not human; her legs and feet were just like a bear's furry feet and a tongue just like a snake's tongue. One of the survivors from her furious attacks used to say that she had told him before she deliberately released him, "I won't never stop killing you soldiers, I won't never stop ripping your chests killers of innocent people" she released the soldier in order to convey a message through him. That soldier had gone crazy after 3 days of his release, he couldn't stop describing her eyes that combined between beauty and ugliness. As a reaction, the colonel general tried many times to catch or kill her, but he couldn't because she was very strong and skilled. the soldiers' hearts were filled with fear as a result of the stories narrated to them about that savage girl. therefore, the image of that wild ugly women who was haunting the soldiers everyday could not get out of their brains till the country gained its independence. However, the whole people of Morocco are still afraid from that women hiding in the jungle, and every man is expecting to be attacked one day by the resistant Zaina especially soldiers because she abhors them more than anybody else. That's why many people nowadays claim that they were stopped or attacked by her, especially during the gloomy nights of winter and she always chooses men who are travelling alone as her victims.
